Gum beaching , also known as gum depigmentation , is a cosmetic dental procedure performed to remove black spots/ patches or lighten the gums consisting of melanin. The visual gum pigmentation can be often due to genetic factors or tobacco smoking. The depigmentation procedure will involve laser ablation techniques.
